About the Role
The Logistics Policy Analyst provides research, analytical support, and policy development expertise to strengthen supply-chain operations and logistics programs across federal or commercial organizations. This role focuses on evaluating current policies, identifying gaps, and recommending strategies that improve readiness, resilience, auditability, and overall mission performance.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze logistics policies, processes, and guidance related to supply-chain management, inventory, warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
Review existing regulations (e.g., DoD, Service Component, federal acquisition, and financial management guidance) to identify compliance gaps and opportunities for modernization.
Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to assess the effectiveness of logistics programs, performance metrics, and enterprise-level initiatives.
Prepare policy briefs, white papers, decision memos, and recommendations for senior leaders.
Support development and implementation of new policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and governance frameworks.
Collaborate with stakeholders across program offices, logistics commands, and financial management teams to gather data and align policy objectives.
Assess impacts of proposed policy changes on operations, systems, budgets, and workforce needs.
Develop dashboards, analytical tools, or process maps using Excel, Power BI, or other platforms.
Provide audit-readiness and data-quality support related to property, inventory, and supply-chain records.
Support briefing development for executive-level reviews, working groups, and cross-functional meetings.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, public policy, business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience supporting logistics programs, supply-chain operations, or federal policy development—Defense/DoD experience strongly preferred.
